Poland Supports E-Mobility: €1.4 Billion for Heavy-Duty Vehicles, Charging Infrastructure, and Grid Expansion

Poland has received approval from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a €1.4 billion program aimed at promoting zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles and enhancing charging infrastructure. The funds are divided across three main areas:

Subsidies for the purchase or leasing of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles.
Development of public fast-charging stations along major transport routes and logistics hubs.
Expansion of power grids to meet the growing energy demands from these infrastructures.

Zero-Emission Heavy-Duty Vehicles: Key Details

This article focuses on the first segment of the program, specifically the funding available for the acquisition or leasing of battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) in the N2 (3.5 to 12 tonnes) and N3 (over 12 tonnes) categories.

Funding Details:

Large companies can receive up to 30% of the eligible additional investment costs. These additional costs are defined as the extra expenses incurred by the company when purchasing the eco-friendly vehicle, compared to a comparable new diesel vehicle.
Medium-sized companies are eligible for up to 50% of the additional investment costs.
Small businesses can obtain up to 60% of eligible additional investment costs in support.

Maximum funding is set at €93,000 per N2 vehicle and €174,300 per N3 vehicle. For leasing, the subsidy is limited to the initial lease payment. The support applies to both battery-electric and fuel cell vehicles, allowing businesses to choose the most suitable zero-emission solution for their fleet.
